has anyone come across any strange search restrictions in the latest wt library?.
i just tried a search for boreans.
i know they are mentioned in the bible, and in many of the publications...however the borean search mysteriously comes up empty..... i also tried beth sarin - and nothing... very interesting.

I guess I jumped to a conclusion without thinking it through. I also put my thoughts in writing.
Hmmm... how do I undo this potentially embarassing mistake I have just made? Is it possible to retract my post or better yet edit the bound volume version of these posts after it comes out? Does anyone have any spin doctoring experience to help me out of this jam?

this is strange, i read that in 1995 they did away with the "generation" teaching, yet the official watchtower website still says this, over 12 years later !.
thus, all the features of the last days must take place within the lifetime of one generation, the generation of 1914. so some people who were alive in 1914 will still be alive when this system comes to its end.

Is it possible that they have put some restrictions on the search engine within the program?? I wonder if these searches returned some results in older versions of WT library. Could someone with an older version try and let me know? I find this fascinating!

That's true.
Russel was an eccentric nut-case, who could not write one paragraph without sounding like a complete non-sensical nincompoop.
Sorry for the sarcasm, but I have just finished reading a couple of Russel's books. I am absolutely amazed that there were enough un-educated wackos in the late 1800's who would buy in to his outrageous conclusions.

i just cannot understand how any one in their right mind can read the experiences here concerning the wachtower society's false claims, lies, trickery and deceit, and the example shown by the so-called "elders" in treating the flock with disdain and cruelty, and still stay a jehovah's witness.. lurkers, how can you do that?
do you simply dismiss all the evidence?
have any of you experienced such evil acts personally and still stay connected to the jw's?.

Everyone has their own reason, and mine is similar to many who have already made comments.
For myself it is primarily people.
Many of my own family members and those of my wives are firmly entrenched, not to mention many very good friends.
I thought about quietly fading. I thought about simply walking away and leaving it all behind. If I was the only one involved I would most definitely do the latter, however that is not the case. At present I have a very strong desire to help other people in the JW faith to shake loose and free their minds from the control of the WTS. I have made a firm decision to remain in the organization and continue to serve as an elder with the expressed purpose of planting seeds of doubt and helping as many as possible to WAKE UP. I don't go in the ministry (pretty cool that I can stay on as an elder isn't it?), and I follow a personal code of sorts that helps keep my sanity. I honestly believe that over 6 million people have been robbed of their freedom, are putting their very lives in danger, and are condemning themselves and those close to them to a life filled with needless anxiety, depression, feelings of guilt and the development of a dysfunctional and judgemental personality. Most Witnesses do not realize how tainted their own personalities have become because of their exposure to the teachings of the FDS. These people deserve to be helped. The organization itself deserves to be destroyed. I lam just doing my part to help achieve both.

my favorite grandma died of cancer shortly before i was engaged.
her sisters including the recently deceased, stepped up and bought me all my china for my wedding.
they attended my wedding, for her and all said they would be my substitute grandmas.
I agree with Dawg. They need to be defeated, and I promise you that they will be. And I too, am very sorry for your loss and for the terrible way that you were treated. You have received some good advice in this forum on what steps you can next take to show your relatives how you feel, and to help them appreciate the odd and difficult situation you are facing with your parents.
